Philips Arena in downtown Atlanta is undergoing a 192 million dollar renovation later this year, with an assortment of new amenities on tap upon its completion. Among these are two businesses from local musical icons.
Scheduled to open during the Atlanta Hawks’ 2018-2019 season, Zac Brown’s Social Club will be a full-service restaurant overseen by Rusty Hamlin, the Zac Brown Band’s longtime chef who has prepared the meals for the group’s pre-show fan “Eat & Greets” for more than ten years. Hamlin – who’s featured on this season of Food Network Star – specializes in farm fresh, Southern-style gourmet food.
Rapper Killer Mike of Run the Jewels will also open a new location of his SWAG barbershop inside the revamped Philips Arena. The four-chair shop will overlook the floor of the arena, so customers can watch the Hawks play while they get a trim, if they so desire.
