Zac Brown Band Debuts New Song with Chris Cornell on SNL

Chris Cornell of Soundgarden guested with the Zac Brown Band on guitar and vocals during their performance of a new, rock-edged song called “Heavy is the Head” when they made their debut on Saturday Night Live on March 7th. The Georgia band also performed its current single, “Homegrown,” sans Cornell.

Both songs come from the group’s forthcoming album, which has been given the title Jekyll + Hyde. It’s scheduled for release April 28th, and yes, Cornell also appears on the studio version of “Heavy is the Head.” The album will also include a collaboration with Sara Bareilles titled “Mango Tree,” and one song, “Dress Blues,” written by Jason Isbell.

The Zac Brown Band’s North American tour supporting Jekyll + Hyde begins May 1st in Nashville, with a pair of shows at Alpharetta’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre following soon after, on May 8th and 9th.
