Zac Brown’s Southern Ground imprint is not only a musical concern, acting as record label for the Zac Brown Band and their various friends and associated acts, but also a culinary endeavor. Brown and his food team have become well-known for preparing locally-sourced meals for small groups of their fans at the band’s every tour stop, and now that popular practice is being chronicled via a new seven-episode series on cable television network FYI.
Rusty’s RockFeast: Backstage with the Zac Brown Band will follow Southern Ground’s Executive Chef Rusty Hamlin and the band as they plan, prepare and serve the gourmet southern fare, with each tour stop’s pre-show “Eat & Greet” menu unique, dependent upon whatever fresh, local ingredients they can gather in a few short hours upon their arrival. All of the meals are prepared in the band’s 18-wheel mobile kitchen they call “Cookie.”
The series premieres on the FYI network on July 23rd at 10 p.m. ET.
