SweetWater 420 Fest April 21-23 Features 4 Widespread Panic Sets

More than 40 bands appear on four stages

Beloved Georgia band Widespread Panic will perform four sets over two nights at the 2017 installment of SweetWater 420 Fest in Atlanta’s Centennial Park. Panic are joined by the Trey Anastasio Band (performing two sets), Ween, Slightly Stoopid, Dirty Heads, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Dark Star Orchestra, Lettuce, Anders Osborne, Twiddle, Savoy, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, The Hip Abduction, Samantha Fish plus 30 more artists and comedians Jon Rudinitsky and Jake Nordwind.

The beer-centric, eco-friendly focus of SweetWater is felt throughout the music- and activity-filled weekend. The 13th Annual 420 Fest 5k Race, a USATF-certified race and Peachtree Road Race qualifier, starts at 8:30 a.m. on Sat., April 22 at Centennial Park. The Planet 420 Eco Village introduces festival attendees to a variety of awareness-raising environmental advocates and organizations. Among the participants in 2017 are Head Count, Georgia Jack Russell Rescue, GeorgetownSC.org, AWARE Wildlife Center, Surfrider Foundation Georgia Chapter, Atlanta Beltline and Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. Applications are available online for non-profits who would like to get involved.

Of course, it wouldn’t be SweetWater without lots of beer, and the SweetWater Experience tent is the place to taste your way through more than 25 unique styles crafted by the Atlanta-headquartered brewery. Attendees can also enjoy panel presentations, food pairings and Q&A sessions from SweetWater’s founder, brewers and renowned industry friends and experts.

Other offerings include 420 Disco, 420 Lyrics & Laughter, the Artist Market and Food Village, where more than a dozen vendors, mostly Atlanta-based food trucks and restaurants, participate.

Tickets for SweetWater 420 Fest are $123 in advance for a three-day pass with “Big Fish” three-day VIP passes available for $392 featuring a variety of benefits. Tickets are available here.
