Vic Chesnutt’s 1991 album West of Rome – considered by many to be the best of his early four-album run on the tiny (and now defunct) Texas Hotel label during the 1990s – was curiously left off of New West Records’ schedule of their Vic vinyl reissues for this year. Now we know why. It’s being offered as an exclusive, limited edition Record Store Day item, available only at participating independent stores on April 22nd.
Appearing on vinyl for the first time, this 2-LP edition features the same running order and bonus tracks as New West’s CD edition of the album from 2004. Limited to 1,500 copies. For more info and a complete list of this year’s RSD stores and releases, check recordstoreday.com
