Thomas Rhett can ring in the new year with his latest song sitting atop Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The video for the sweetly sentimental single, “Die a Happy Man,” features Rhett and his wife, Lauren, vacationing together in Hawaii. In an interview with Rolling Stone Country, Rhett described the song, co-written with Sean Douglas and Joe Spargur, as “the most honest song I’ve ever written about my wife. It really replicates our relationship with each other and our love for each other, so I think it will be really fun and exciting for people to see that side of me, because I’ve never really done that before.” The song follows “Crash and Burn,” also a #1 single, both of which are featured on Rhett’s latest album, Tangled Up.
