A sequel to the 2006 coming-of-age drama ATL is in the works. Music video director Chris Robinson (not to be confused with the Black Crowes frontman) is again helming the saga, with T.I. reprising his role as artist Rashad from the first film, which heavily featured the Atlanta rap and hip-hop scene both for its soundtrack and the story’s thematic backdrop.
Lauren London (pictured, with T.I.), Jackie Long, Jason Weaver and Albert Daniels are also returning for ATL 2, for which filming has just begun. No word yet on the rest of the cast, or whether any other Atlanta rappers will star or make cameos.
Meanwhile, look for T.I. in a small role in the upcoming Will Farrell/Kevin Hart comedy Get Hard, which comes out March 27th.
