Southern Surf Stompfest Brings Wave of Bands to Avondale Estates

The annual Southern Surf Stompfest brings the reverberating sounds of sand ‘n’ sea to Avondale Estates, just east of Atlanta and Decatur, on Saturday, Sept. 15. In addition to local (The Mystery Men?, The Surge!, The Wheel Knockers, Forbidden Waves [pictured]) and out-of-state (Alabama’s The KBK, Ohio’s The AmpFibians, Maryland’s The Flying Faders, among others), this year the festival will host its first international act: Los Tiki Phantoms from Catalonia, Spain.

The free event will take place at Little Tree Art Studios (2834 Franklin Street in Avondale Estates) on Saturday, Sept. 15 from noon ‘til 10 p.m. Additionally, there will be a pre-party (also free) at Trader Vic’s (255 Courtland Street, on the ground floor of the downtown Atlanta Hilton), with Georgia acts The Delusionaires and Kinky Waikiki.
