Athens, Georgia-based experimental Southern folk music artist Jim White will release his sixth solo album on February 9th.
The bizarrely titled Waffles, Triangles & Jesus features musical backing from Athens old-time music duo Hog-eyed Man, along with guitarist Patrick Hargon, drummer and bassist Marlon Patton and trumpeter Josh Klein. Other participating locals including violinist Keiko Ishibashi (Kishi Bashi), vocalist Andrea De Marcus (Cicada Rhythm) and fellow indie loose cannon Holly Golightly.
White, whose debut album Wrong-Eyed Jesus was released in 1997, also spends his time producing other songwriters, creating and exhibiting his visual art and writing fiction. His most recent album was a 2015 collaboration with Athens’ Packway Handle Band titled Take It Like a Man.
