Shannon Wright has been living in Atlanta since the late ‘90s, but chances are you may not have been aware of that unless someone clued you in. The Jacksonville native and onetime focal point of ‘90s indie band Crowsdell spends most of her touring time traversing Europe, where her passionate, often cacophonous musical eruptions have found a more devoted audience than in the States.
Division, the multi-instrumentalist’s 11th album overall (she’s generally found on piano and electric guitar), was in fact recorded in France and Italy with engineer David Chalmin. And it is being released by French label Vicious Circle on February 3rd. A series of live performances will follow in that part of the world. So far, no Georgia dates, or anything booked in the United States at all. Wright last played Atlanta in late October, opening for the band Shellac.
