MusicFile Productions, the folks behind March’s annual Savannah Stopover Music Festival, are teaming up with award-winning downtown Savannah restaurant The Grey for a series of weekend afternoon concerts during the summer and fall.
The series will feature both local and regional touring acts. The kickoff concert happens on Father’s Day – Sunday, June 21st – when Nashville-based Americana-rock band Great Peacock makes its Savannah debut. Then on Saturday, July 11th, Orlando’s sibling-led ensemble Thomas Wynn & the Believers will entertain with their classic-rock inspired songs. The series will continue on selected Saturdays through the end of October, with the talent for Aug. 1st, Sept. 19th, Oct. 10th and Oct. 31st yet to be announced.
The $21 entry fee covers food, music and a drink at the expansive, family-friendly eatery’s outdoor courtyard. Service will run from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., with musical performances starting at 2 p.m. According to Savannah Stopover founder Kayne Lanahan, “We loved the idea from day one. I think it will be fun to showcase a broad range of musical genres in a casual, afternoon setting that gives both locals and visitors a chance to experience The Grey in a whole new way.”
