Savannah Stopover Announces First Wave of 2016 Artists

The 6th annual Savannah Stopover Music Festival has announced its first wave of acts for the enjoyable springtime indie-centric hullabaloo.

Ra Ra Riot, Yuck, Hiss Golden Messenger, Diet Cig, Beverly, White Reaper, Christopher Paul Stelling and Hollis Brown are among this initial batch. As usual, the Stopover prides itself on showcasing a wealth of Georgia acts, with Futurebirds, New Madrid and Chief Scout included in this first round of names.

The yearly festival, which takes place at venues all over downtown Savannah, capitalizes on the throngs of bands and solo artists that are heading to Austin for South by Southwest in early March, coaxing them to “stop over” for a night or two in Savannah to play for fans who may not have gotten a chance to catch them otherwise. Over 80 acts are expected to play the 2016 Savannah Stopover, with a second wave of acts to be announced in January.
