Savannah Music Festival Adds a Half-Dozen Acts to 2016 Lineup

Six acts have been added to the lineup for this year’s Savannah Music Festival, including Athens’ Drive-By Truckers and Augusta-born soul-belter Sharon Jones and her group the Dap-Kings. The Truckers (pictured) will rock the Trustees Theater on April 6th, while Jones and co. will funk up the Lucas Theatre for the Arts on April 4th.

Other acts added to the festival – March 24th through April 9th at venues throughout the city – are violinist/vocalist/composer Andrew Bird and his band (March 29th, Lucas Theatre), country/roots act David Rawlings Machine (April 5th, Trustees Theater), classical-influenced rock act My Brightest Diamond (April 8th and 9th, the latter a 3 p.m. performance, at the Charles H. Morris Center) and the U.S. Marine Corps All Star Jazz Band, who’ll perform a free show at the Trustees Theater on April 4th at 2 p.m.
