The 2016 Savannah Jazz Festival – produced and orchestrated annually for 35 years now by the Coastal Jazz Association – will take place September 18th through 24th. Set in various locations across Savannah, the festival’s performances are free and open to the public.
This year’s headliners, all of whom will perform evenings in Forsyth Park downtown, include guitarist Dave Stryker, six-time Emmy-winning composer and keyboardist Peter Fish, blues guitarist Solomon Hicks, Israeli sensation Yotam Silberstein and saxophonist Don Braden (pictured).
The fest also includes local musicians and groups such as the Savannah Arts Academy Jazz Band, Eric Culberson, the Savannah Hall of Fame Jazz Ensemble and Atlanta jazz-pop vocalist Audrey Shakir. For more information and a full schedule, go to savannahjazzfest.com.
