Veteran Atlanta rapper T.I. has just released his tenth album via his Grand Hustle label and Epic Records.
Several tracks on Dime Trap include comedian Dave Chappelle as “the voice in” T.I.’s head. Most cuts also feature fellow rappers, including Atlanta’s Jeezy, YFN Lucci, London Jae and Young Thug. Victoria Monét, Teyana Taylor, California’s Anderson .Paak, Philly’s Meek Mill, Memphis’ Yo Gotti and Alabama’s Watch the Duck also appear on selected tracks. Producers include Atlanta’s Shawty Redd, Lil’ C, Mr. Bangladesh and T.I.’s own son, Messiah Harris.
Coinciding with the release of the album, T.I. has co-curated (along with video producer Antwanette McLaughlin, hip-hop journalist Maurice Garland, photographer/videographer Cam Kirk and artist DL Warfield) a Trap Music Museum in Atlanta, at 630 Travis Street. The museum celebrates Atlanta’s trap music culture, focusing on artists who helped bring the movement to the forefront, including T.I., Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Future and 2Chainz. The museum also features an “Escape the Trap” room where guests have to crack codes and follow clues to break free from a trap house.
