RBMA Radio: Live From Atlanta to Showcase City’s Rap Scene

A promotional endeavor from the company behind the Red Bull line of energy drinks, the Red Bull Music Academy has its own online radio station, RBMA Radio, streaming handpicked music, interviews with various musical acts and exclusive performances. Now the outlet will be broadcasting live from Atlanta’s Patchwerk Recording Studios August 15th through 20th.

RBMA Radio: Live From Atlanta will include Atlanta-focused episodes of current programming, plus live interviews, DJ mixes and special performances from Metro Boomin’ (pictured above), Abra, Janelle Monae producer Chuck Lightning and many more. Special curated events will include a roundtable conversation with Atlanta DJs who revolutionized the hip hop mixtape (plus an after-party at East Atlanta Village bar/venue Graveyard Tavern featuring sets from DJ Drama, Don Cannon and DJ Sense), a conversation with Sleepy Brown (followed the next evening by a live concert by Sleepy and his band at Terminal West), and a “United States of Bass” event at MJQ celebrating “a love for low-end,” with sets by Atlanta hip hop producer DJ Toomp, Magic City mainstay DJ Jelly, Bankhead rapper Kilo Ali and Mr. Collipark (aka DJ Smurf). Additionally, other acts from around the US will participate, including New Orleans bounce boss Big Freedia, Baltimore’s TT the Artist and New Jersey’s UNiiQU3.
