Oteil Burbridge to Lead “Super Jam” at Colorado Music Festival

Grammy-winning Allman Brothers Band/Dead & Company bassist Oteil Burbridge, who along with his brother, keyboardist and flautist Kofi Burbridge, cut his teeth in the Atlanta music scene of the ‘80s and ‘90s in groups like Knee-Deep and the Aquarium Rescue Unit, will lead what is being called a “super jam” at Nederland, Colorado’s NedFest August 25-27.

In addition to both Burbridges, the super group will include Atlanta vocalist Alfreda Gerald, plus Hammond master Melvin Seals, guitarists Ian Neville (Dumpstaphunk) and John Kadlecik (Dark Star Orchestra), drummer Jay Lane (RatDog), percussionist Weedie Braimah (The Nth Power), vocalist Lyle Divinsky (The Motet) and the horn section from the Trey Anastasio Band: Jennifer Hartswick and Natalie Cressman.

There’s no indication that this ensemble intends to record or play any further dates beyond NedFest, not that the participants’ busy schedules would likely allow it.
