In a nod back to the days when Saturday night dances would draw thousands to tobacco warehouses in downtown Moultrie, the Colquitt County Arts Center presents Sam Burchfield “Live at The Warehouse” on April 15, 2017. Tickets are $20 per person or $30 per couple available in advance at the Colquitt County Arts Center or at the door. Showtime is 8 p.m. and the warehouse address is 25 5th St. NE. For more info, call (229) 985-1922.
Burchfield cut his teeth playing folk, funk and southern soul in Athens and Atlanta clubs including the Georgia Theatre and Eddie’s Attic. He released his first EP, Where to Run, in 2014 a few months after graduating from the University of Georgia and followed it in 2016 with a second release, Unarmored. He appeared on American Idol Season 13 and has steadily worked to build his fan base in the southeast with opening slots for acts including St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Ben Rector and Emily Hearn.
Late in March, Burchfield and his band performed at Paste magazine’s Paste Studios in New York City and showcased material from Unarmored.
