Michelle Malone Shows Off Her Strengths on Thirteenth Album

Michelle Malone has a long history as part of Atlanta’s singer/songwriter scene, touring the country tirelessly and recording an ongoing slew of critically acclaimed albums, both solo and with a variety of hotshot backing bands.

Her latest album, Stronger Than You Think, certainly stands among her best. A mix of solid rockers and tender, softer moments, her thirteenth record is boosted by an exemplary crew behind her, including guitarists Ben Holst and Davis Causey, bassist Michael Steele, percussionist Trish Land and drummer Gerry Hansen, also the album’s co-producer. Malone spent much of last year performing in Sugarland member Kristian Bush’s touring band, and her longtime friend Bush returns the favor on her album, co-writing and appearing on the track “When I Grow Up.” Amy Ray of Indigo Girls also co-wrote and sings on the song “I Don’t Wanna Know.”

Stronger Than You Think will be released on Malone’s independent SBS label on June 2nd. A hometown release show will take place at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur on Saturday, May 30th.
