Metro Boomin Profiled on First Episode of Noisey’s New Legends

Metro Boomin gets the spotlight on the debut episode of New Legends, a new short-form video series airing on Vice’s music-focused Noisey site.

The Atlanta-based/St. Louis-born producer and DJ – winner of the Producer of the Year award at the recent 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards – speaks about initially wanting to be a rapper before realizing that his true talent was on the production end. The 22-year-old started working with hot names like Young Jeezy and Yo Gotti in high school before eventually dropping out of college to commit to music full time. His credits now include Kanye West, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Future, The Weeknd and Drake. He has also released a mixtape of original songs, 19 & Boomin, in 2013, and collaborated with Atlanta rapper 21 Savage on the EP Savage Mode, released this past July.
