Marietta Native Ron Pope Releases New EP

Born in Marietta, count Ron Pope as yet another Georgia-bred country/Americana artist that’s pulled up roots and settled in the mecca for such music: Nashville.

Called “Atlanta’s answer to The Boss” by Uncut magazine, 34-year-old Pope played in a group called The District before going solo in 2007. His latest EP, Worktapes, follows his critically praised seventh album Work, released last August. Worktapes dropped January 26th on Pope’s own Brooklyn Basement Records, to be followed by a Midwest and West Coast tour run beginning on Feb. 7th.
