Lynyrd Skynyrd to Play Buckhead Theatre Show for SiriusXM

Just prior to launching their two-year “Last of the Street Survivors” Farewell Tour in May, Southern Rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd will play a special invitation-only show for SiriusXM at Atlanta’s Buckhead Theatre on Thursday, March 15th.

The exclusive performance for SiriusXM subscribers will be broadcast live beginning at 9 p.m. ET on the band’s own Southern Rock pop-up channel through the satellite radio network. The “Free Bird” channel (channel 30 on satellite radio and the SiriusXM app) will launch on Friday, March 2nd and run through Sunday, April 1st, showcasing music from Skynyrd’s extensive catalog as well as selections from fellow Southern Rock acts such as the Marshall Tucker Band, the Allman Brothers Band, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet and many more. Band members Gary Rossington, Rickey Medlocke and Johnny Van Zant will host selected shows on the channel.

SiriusXM subscribers will have the opportunity to win tickets to this private performance through an invitation sent by email. There’s also a chance for new subscribers to enter to win a trip to Atlanta for the show. Complete details can be found at

Atlanta fans shouldn’t fret if they miss out on the March 15 show, however. Lynyrd Skynyrd will wrap up the 2018 leg of their farewell run at Lakewood Amphitheatre on Saturday, Sept. 1st.
