Originating from Saint Simons Island, Liza Anne (born Elizabeth Anne Odachowski) has grown noticeably more assertive and effective with each album. After starting to play music and write songs while still a high schooler, her first album, 2014’s folkish The Colder Months was released when she was just 19.
Now living in Nashville and operating in decidedly more indie-rock mode, Liza’s third album Fine But Dying is set for release March 9th on the Arts & Crafts label. The eleven songs were recorded in Paris inside a mansion at a facility that’s also been used by Nick Cave and Feist. The album’s already earned early praise from Stereogum (“gorgeous and subtly devastating”) and NPR Music (“bold in both sound and subject”).
\Liza Anne will kick off an extensive North American tour at South by Southwest in Austin in mid-March. She’ll be at The EARL in Atlanta on April 21st.
