Lera Lynn’s upcoming album Plays Well With Others (out 22nd) is a collaborative recording project wherein she wrote and recorded duets with eight different singer-songwriters. And it’s an impressive list: Rodney Crowell, John Paul White (The Civil Wars), Peter Bradley Adams, Shovels & Rope, JD McPherson, Nicole Atkins, Andrew Combs and Dylan LeBlanc.
“This was an incredibly fun record to make – I hope to turn you on to some of my favorite people/artists,” says Lynn, who was raised in Georgia, attended UGA and first made her mark in the Athens music scene ten years ago with the group Birds & Wire and subsequently as a solo artist. She now resides in Nashville.
Only five shows are planned to support the album. Luckily one is in Georgia, at the Wildwood Revival festival in Arnoldsville on June 29th. No telling who might join her that evening, but both Combs and LeBlanc are playing earlier in the day. For more info and the full schedule for the June 29-July 1 event, check wildwoodrevival.com.
