Lee Bains III & the Glory Fires Release Ferocious New Single

Lee Bains III & the Glory Fires, who’ll be opening for Alabama Shakes at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on August 21st, have just released a new 7-inch single on Sub Pop Records.

The A-side, “Sweet Disorder!,” is an original protest song about youth culture and the criminal justice system. The B-side, “Stars,” was originally released in 1982 by the Birmingham band Primitons. While the Glory Fires also started and are mainly still based in Birmingham, leader Bains resides in Atlanta, where this cover version was recorded on his telephone before being shined up a bit by producer Jeremy Ferguson at Battletapes studio in Nashville. Original Primitons vocalist Mats Roden died in 2014, and Bains dedicates this new record “to his memory and to his songs.”
