Kishi Bashi to Release Live String Quartet Album in November

Unconventional pop songwriter, composer and musician Kishi Bashi, an Athens resident for several years who’s recorded and toured with Of Montreal, Regina Spektor and Sondre Lerche, will release his first live album on Nov. 13th via Joyful Noise Records.

The classically trained violinist reimagines a selection of songs from his two previous solo albums, 151a and Lighght (along with a Talking Heads cover), on String Quartet Live!, which transforms the buoyant pop breakaways of his studio records into a swirl of interweaving strings, with Kishi’s voice soaring above.

In addition to its standard issue, String Quartet Live! will also be available in a special edition, limited to 500 copies each on red, cyan and yellow vinyl, including a bonus flexi-disc containing a live cover of “A Sunday Smile,” a song by the group Beirut. All copies of the special edition will be singed by Kishi Bashi.
