Kishi Bashi the Latest Georgia Musician with a Coffee Flavor

Violin whiz Kishi Bashi is the latest Georgia-based musician to have a java blend concocted on his behalf.

Jittery Joe’s Coffee Roasting Company, the Athens-based gang behind Futurebirds’ Baba Java blend that was introduced in late summer, has unveiled the new Royal Daark Blend, inspired by the singer/composer’s latest album Lighght. Purchasers also receive a download code for a new song created especially for the coffee flavor.

Kishi Bashi, born Kaoru Ishibashi, first gained notice while recording and touring with acts such as Regina Spektor, Sondre Lerche and Athens art-pop ensemble Of Montreal. He relocated to Athens last year, and has received wide acclaim for his second solo LP Lighght, released in May, and the live performances supporting it. He and his band will ring in 2015 at Atlanta’s Center Stage Theatre before embarking on another cross-country jaunt in mid-January.
