Jittery Joe’s Brews Up Futurebirds Coffee Blend

jjc_b_baba_javaPlaying on the title of last year’s album for Fat Possum Records, Baba Yaga, Futurebirds have teamed with their Athens, Georgia coffeeshop chain Jittery Joe’s to roast up their own particular coffee blend, Baba Java, which is also the name of a new four-song EP from the band that includes a version of R.E.M.’s “(Don’t Go Back To) Rockville.”

In partnership with producer David Barbe and UGA’s Music Business Program, Jittery Joe’s plans a series of blends tied in with various Athens bands, of which Baba Java is the first.

The Baba Java EP is released on Sept. 16th. You can catch Futurebirds live at Sky City in Augusta on Sept. 19th, the following day at the Revival Fest at Savannah’s Georgia Railroad Museum (also featuring Cedric Burnside, Packway Handle Band, Roadkill Ghost Choir and others), and Sept. 26 at the Georgia Theatre in their Athens hometown.
