Jason Aldean Among the Georgians Taking Home 2015 ACM Awards

Jason Aldean performed a four-song medley at the 50th Anniversary Academy of Country Music Awards held Sunday, April 19 in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium. Fans in the audience seemed to know every word to the superstar’s songs including “Tonight Looks Good On You,” “My Kinda Party,” “She’s Country” and one of his earliest hits, “Hicktown.” Aldean was also named “Male Vocalist of the Year” during the ceremony.

Show co-host and Leesburg native Luke Bryan took home the coveted “Entertainer of the Year” honor, as well as “Vocal Event of the Year” which he shared with Florida Georgia Line, the duo featuring Monroe, Georgia’s Tyler HubbardCole Swindell of Bronwood, Ga. was named “New Artist of the Year” and Little Big Town, which includes Georgia-born ladies Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild were named “Vocal Group of the Year.  Lee Brice, while not a Georgian, won “Single Record of the Year” for the song “I Don’t Dance,” which he co-wrote with Rob Hatch and Albany, Ga.’s own Dallas Davidson.
