Jackson Steel Guitar Company Introduces Pedal Steel Bass

Melding a bass guitar with a pedal steel guitar, Dahlonega’s Jackson Steel Guitar Company has introduced an innovative new instrument called the SlideKing Bass.

Available in 4- and 5-string models, the SlideKing is played horizontally with a thumb pick like a pedal steel, with three foot pedals to alter the tuning. Built with a solid maple body and neck, it’s available in black, turquoise, red or white, all for a cool $1,995.

Founded in 2005 by the sons and granddaughter of world-renowned pedal steel guitarist and designer Harold “Shot” Jackson, Jackson Steel Guitar Company continues the family’s tradition and exalted reputation in pedal steel guitar craftsmanship.
