HemlockFest Offers Music Among (and in Support of) the Trees

HemlockFest is an annual festival held the first weekend in November, with proceeds used to increase public awareness of endangered eastern North American hemlock trees, and provide financial support for area colleges and universities in their efforts to save the hemlocks (which are a variety of pine, and not related to the poisonous plant with that name).

Held November 3, 4 and 5 just east of Dahlonega, this year’s music lineup includes Georgia acts A.J. Ghent, Rev. Jeff Mosier with the Madrid Express, Dead Affect, Ralph Roddenberry, The Squirrelheads, B.J. Wilbanks, Donna Hopkins and many more. Additional highlights and activities include arts & crafts vendors, canoeing, a lantern parade and educational exhibits. Onsite camping is offered.
