Gregg Allman Cancels Shows Due to “Serious Health Issues”

Gregg Allman has been hospitalized, resulting in the cancellation of all of his tour dates through October 16th.

Allman is currently under his doctor’s care at the Mayo Clinic, due to unspecified “serious health issues.” Allman underwent a successful liver transplant in 2010, but suffered an upper respiratory condition the following year due to the transplant.

A total of 28 shows were cancelled, including a number of festival dates and an August tour with ZZ Top. As of now, the Atlanta stop of Allman’s Laid Back Festival on Oct. 29 is scheduled to be his first onstage appearance after this break.

“I want to thank my fans and friends for supporting me while I rest up and focus on getting better, and back on the road as soon as I can,” Allman said in a press release. “I’ve been working hard with my band, my pride and joy, to play our music for everyone. We’ll see y’all in October.”
