Peach Pickers Low ResIt’s amazing how many artists topping the country music charts over the past couple of years are from Georgia – Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum, Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, Billy Currington, Colt Ford, Thomas Rhett, Cole Swindell…that’s not all and it’s not even including songwriters!

Georgians have always been major players in country music and the contributions of many of those artists and writers will be celebrated on Tues., May 20 during “Georgia On My Mind: The Peach Pickers & Friends Host a Night of Georgia Music” at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville. Homegrown hitmakers Dallas Davidson (from Albany), Ben Hayslip (from Augusta) and Rhett Akins (from Valdosta), who write collectively as the Peach Pickers, are gathering together other expatriates living in Nashville for the first-ever “Georgia night” of music and celebration. Expect lots of special guests performing country songs made famous by or written by Georgians in the past few decades.

Admission is $25 and proceeds benefit the Georgia Music Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports programs of music preservation, education and outreach, including publishing Georgia Music magazine. Dallas Davidson, the 2013 and 2012 ACM Songwriter of the Year, serves as chair of the Georgia Music Foundation.
