FX Picks Up Donald Glover Comedy Show About Atlanta Rap Scene

The FX television network has picked up Stone Mountain native Donald Glover’s half-hour comedy series, Atlanta, for a ten-episode first season that will premiere sometime in 2016.

The series, created by and starring Glover as one of two cousins making their way in Atlanta’s rap music scene, will be filmed in the titular city as was the pilot episode. Glover – a multifaceted talent with a successful rap career under the name Childish Gambino – can be seen in the current hit movie The Martian, and won an Emmy for his writing for NBC’s 30 Rock.
