Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Casting Crowns Win AMAs

Country artists from Georgia have increasingly become familiar trophy winners at music award shows, and the American Music Awards, which aired live from Los Angeles’s Microsoft Theatre on Nov. 22nd, was no exception.

Florida Georgia Line won awards for Favorite Country Duo or Group and Favorite Country Album, while Luke Bryan walked away as Favorite Male Artist. Of course, it would’ve been impossible for a Georgia act to NOT win those categories – all of their competitors, from Jason Aldean to the Zac Brown Band to Sam Hunt – had Georgia roots as well.

Meanwhile, Georgia-based Contemporary Christian group Casting Crowns won the award for Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist.
