Five Eight Releasing New Album Songs For St. Jude in Late July

Longtime Athens band Five Eight, who’ve been going nonstop for 25 years, will have their new double LP Songs For St. Jude released by Austin-based indie label Chicken Ranch Records in late July. Named after the Patron Saint of hope and impossible causes (something this band can certainly relate to), the album includes guest appearances by friends Patterson Hood (Drive-By Truckers) and Jack Logan.

A series of coinciding release shows will take places in three of the band’s regular Georgia destinations: Thursday, July 20th at Sky City in Augusta; Friday, July 21st at The World Famous in their Athens hometown; and Saturday, July 22nd at a special party at Motor City South, an auto repair shop in East Atlanta Village in Atlanta. Orlando band The Pauses will open all shows.
