Musicians Keith Xenos and Fletcher Liegerot both hail from Atlanta and played in various bands there (The White Lights, Cat Power, Magic Bone, etc.), though not together in the same ones. It wasn’t until both men had moved to New York City that they even met each other, introduced by a mutual friend, fellow former Atlanta musician Johnny Vignault (The White Lights, The Vendettas).
Together, the three of them formed a new group called Brother Reverend in the mid-aughts. Vignault left after an EP and their debut album, but Xenos and Liegerot have kept the flame burning, and have just released the band’s second LP, The Tables Turn Too Often. The songs deftly blend influences ranging from mid ‘60s British groups, early ‘70s power-pop and country-rock.
