Dreamend, the dream-pop solo project of Savannah-based musician Ryan Graveface, will release its first album in six years on April 6th.
The untitled LP is not a concept album, as past Dreamend releases have been. In his own words, “it’s merely a massive life transition in album form.” Since the release of Dreamend’s And the Tears Washed Me, Wave After Cowardly Wave in 2012, Graveface was diagnosed with a rare, progressive hearing loss condition, which has altered what sounds he can hear and, thus, changed the way he composes music. “The end result is oddly experimental,” Graveface says of the album.
The album features appearances by sisters Phaedra and Elsa of Savannah’s Casket Girls (of which Graveface is also a member), Alexandra Morte of Oakland doo-wop garage band Night School and percussionist T.W. Walsh (Pedro the Lion).
