Donald Glover Wins Golden Globe for Atlanta; Thanks Migos

Stone Mountain native Donald Glover’s FX TV series Atlanta, set amid the city’s hip-hop scene, won the 2017 Golden Globe award for Best Comedy Series on January 8th.

The actor, writer, producer, director, comedian and rapper (under the name Childish Gambino), whose most recent album, the funk-inspired “Awaken, My Love!”, was released last month, went out of his way to promote Atlanta rap trio Migos during his acceptance speech. “I’d like to thank the Migos,” Glover said. “Not for being on the show but for making ‘Bad and Boujee,’” referring to the group’s current hit single, which has risen to number two on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
