Decatur Rapper Jarren Benton Releases Eight-Song EP

Decatur-based rapper Jarren Benton released a new EP, Slow Motion Volume One, at the end of January. The CD – dedicated to his former manager, Jahmal “Slow Motion” Pryor, who died in 2013 – boasts eight songs and features appearances by several West Coasters including LA rappers SwizZz and Hopsin, Las Vegas’ Dizzy Wright and Arizona’s Sareena Dominguez.

Benton, whose signature look includes a coonskin cap, released his debut album, My Grandma’s Basement, in 2013. It reached number 152 on Billboard magazine’s Top 200 album chart.
