Born ‘n’ bred in Athens, Colt Ford has made a name for himself by blending country music and rap, which may seem at first like an unlikely matchup but it’s hard to argue with his success. His fourth album, Declaration of Independence, went to number one of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, and the follow-up, 2014’s Thanks for Listening, debuted in the top ten of the trade magazine’s all-inclusive Billboard 200 chart, not to mention hitting number two on the Top Country Albums chart and number one on the Rap Albums chart!
Now Colt’s returning with his sixth studio album. Due for release May 5th on Average Joes Entertainment, Love Hope Faith “celebrates all things that bring us together – friends, family and our faith,” according to the announcement on Ford’s website.
There are loads of friends and special guests joining Colt on this new one, including Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and his singer-songwriter brother Josh (both Augusta natives), Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Taylor Ray Holbrook, Rizzi Myers, rock band Lit and more. “There are a lot of different styles on this album, but I think my fans will hear it’s just me,” says Ford. “As long as I remain true to myself, I can delve into all of them.”
Colt Ford’s extensive tour promoting the new album will bring him to The Battery Atlanta – the new retail, restaurant and entertainment development anchored by the Atlanta Braves’ new home, Sun Trust Park, in Cobb County just northeast of Atlanta – on May 12th.
