Cindy Wilson to Release Debut Solo Album in November

Cindy Wilson has signed to longstanding independent record label Kill Rock Stars for the release of her debut solo album. While an exact date has yet to be announced, Change is scheduled to come out in November.

Wilson’s solo band first started taking shape nearly a decade ago after she hired a Beatles tribute band to play her son’s birthday party, and began teaming up with their drummer Leumuel Hayes and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Monahan for gigs performing classic garage and psychedelic rock covers. Eventually hitting the studio to record some originals, Athens-based producer and musician Suny Lyons joined the group, resulting in the EPs Sunrise and Supernatural.

Produced by Lyons at The Space Station in Athens, Change will consist of a mix of distinct originals and curious covers such as “Things I’d Like to Say” by ‘60s Chicago soft-rock group New Colony Six and “Brother” by early ‘80s Athens group Oh-OK.
