Childish Gambino Wins Grammy for His Song “Redbone”

Stone Mountain’s Donald Glover has won numerous awards in numerous areas – Breakout Performer of the Year at the 2012 Comedy Awards, two Emmys and two Golden Globes for his hit TV series Atlanta, and so on. But when it came his hip-hop music, which he records and performs under the name Childish Gambino, Glover had yet to win a Grammy – until this year.

The song “Redbone,” from Childish Gambino’s album “Awaken, My Love!” won the Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance during the 2018 ceremony. And it could have turned out to be an even bigger night for Glover, as the song and album were also up for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best R&B Song and Best Urban Contemporary Album. However, Bruno Mars won the bulk of those. Chances are, however, that this is the first of many future Grammys for the multi-talented Georgian.
