Cee Lo Signs Son’s Group, Swagu Style House, Contributes to Single

Swagu Style House is a new hip hop band out of Atlanta that’s been taken under the wing of Cee Lo Green, who’s signed them to his Mothership Entertainment label, which is distributed through Epic Records.

Since you may be scratching your head right now, thinking, “Who?,” it should be pointed out that the group includes Cee Lo’s 16-year-old son Kingston Calloway (under the pseudonym Medulla) on multiple instruments, primarily bass. The lineup is rounded out by Greg Edmonds (better known as Stranger) and Darron Price (aka Deep) on dueling vocals. Live, the lineup can expand further to include other instrumentalists and a turntablist.

As for the trio’s curious name, Stranger explained on the SiriusXM satellite radio show “Sway in the Morning” how it symbolizes their diversity: “It’s like a discount mall, you know what I’m sayin’? It’s like a whole bunch of stores you can go into and gather up a bunch of things… It’s a collective effort of all our talents.”

The group recently perform at the Afro Punk festival in New York City to positive response. While no timeline has been given for the release of new music through the Epic deal, you can see the three as emoji’s, along with Cee Lo, in the video for their song “Pick It Up” here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZOwzQsn64w
