Casting Crowns Singer Undergoes Surgery for Kidney Cancer

Casting Crowns lead singer Mark Hall is recovering from surgery he underwent on March 11th to remove his right kidney after doctors discovered a solid mass confirmed to be cancerous. An update to Casting Crowns fans from Hall’s wife Melanie via the band’s website noted, “The findings of the [pathology] report confirm that the cancer had not spread to the kidney or anywhere else.”

In a follow-up post on March 16, Hall wrote that her husband had “turned a corner yesterday” and was headed home to continue healing. On behalf of Georgia Music, we wish Mark a speedy recovery so that he may get back to his music and Student Ministry.
