Ellaville, Georgia native Brent Cobb will have his highly anticipated major label debut, Shine On Rainy Day, released on Friday, October 7th via Low Country Sound/Elektra Records. Rolling Stone has already declared it “what promises to be Cobb’s breakout LP as a singer-songwriter.”
Brent moved to Nashville in 2008, and has since found widespread success as a writer, with songs recorded by Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Kellie Pickler and others. In 2012, he released a self-titled EP, and in March of this year his song “Down Home” appeared on Southern Family, the critically acclaimed compilation album of up-and-coming Nashville talent spearheaded by his distant cousin, hot country music producer Dave Cobb (another former Georgian).
Dave produced Shine On Rainy Day, and says of the project, “I wanted to work with Brent for very selfish reasons. When he lifts a pen and opens his mouth, it sounds like home. I did his record because he’s part of the fabric of South Georgia and the soundtrack to my family. Pure, real, country-soul filled music.”
Brent Cobb is touring this fall, opening for Anderson East, with dates including October 14th at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, and November 6th at the Cox Capitol Theatre in Macon.
