Acclaimed Georgia-based musician and singer-songwriter Randall Bramblett will have his eleventh studio album released on July 7th by New West Records. Juke Joint at the Edge of the World includes nine new original songs plus a funky cover of Beck’s “Devil’s Haircut,” which he names one of his all time favorite songs.
“In all my time making solo records, I’ve never done a cover,” Bramblett notes. “I just thought it would be fun to try one this time… The lyrics [in ‘Devil’s Haircut’] don’t make much sense but there’s a feel of disaster looming and a sense of humor about it. I can relate to that.” Bramblett describes Juke Joint as a record with a live feel to it. “The music is rooted more in the soul and R&B dance music I grew up listening to and playing,” he says. “The songs will take you places that make you dream and dance.”
Bramblett’s touring around the Southeast extensively this year, including Georgia dates at the Tybee Post Theater on Tybee Island July 14th, Duluth’s Red Clay Music Foundry on July 29th and, as part of the ExploreGeorgia.com Songwriter Series, a show at the Dosta Theater in Valdosta on August 19th.
