After reaching number 40 on Billboard magazine’s album chart with their 2012 release for Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Records, The Whipporwill, Atlanta-based Southern rockers Blackberry Smoke are poised to break through to an even greater degree after signing with Nashville’s Rounder Records, who will release the band’s fourth studio album Holding All the Roses on Feb. 10th.
Mega-producer Brendan O’Brien, a native Atlantan who has produced (and often performed on) hit albums by Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, The Wallflowers, Third Day, Pearl Jam and loads of others, was behind the boards for the recording of Holding All the Roses, and brings a hard-hitting, succinct rock-edged directness to the quintet’s new batch of songs. Comparisons have already been made to the heyday of the Georgia Satellites, for whom O’Brien once played bass.
Blackberry Smoke will embark upon a new, multi-month round of touring in early February, reaching all regions of the U.S. Audio for their new song “Rock & Roll Again” can be found on the band’s official YouTube channel here:
