Blackberry Smoke Releasing Acoustic EP Recorded at Zac Brown’s Studio

Blackberry Smoke will release a new acoustic EP, The Southern Ground Sessions, on October 26. As the title plainly puts it, the six-song collection was recorded live at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Studios in Nashville.

“It felt really cool to come back to Southern Ground…and play music with some good friends,” Blackberry Smoke lead singer Charlie Starr says. “It was like stripping it down and playing in the living room.”

The EP features acoustic versions of five cuts from the band’s most recent album Find a Light, as well as a rendition of Tom Petty’s “You Got Lucky.” Amanda Shires guests on two tracks, while Oliver Wood (The Wood Brothers) is featured on one.

Blackberry Smoke will return to their hometown of Atlanta on Nov. 23, when they’ll play the Tabernacle.
