Blackberry Smoke Debut at Top of Country Album Chart

Blackberry Smoke’s new album Holding All the Roses had a mighty impressive first week at retail, debuting at #1 on Billboard magazine’s Country Album Chart with sales of nearly 20,000 copies. Roses, produced by Georgia’s Brendan O’Brien, also landed at #7 on the Rock Album Chart and #29 on the all-encompassing Top 200 Album Chart.

In addition to high sales, the Atlanta group’s fourth studio album has received high praise from the press. The Boston Globe calls it “the sound of a band thrillingly coming into its own,” while British music magazine Mojo declared that the band’s “marriage of country picking, AC/DC swagger and Skynyrd-style backwoods balladry is delivered with such joy and conviction that you can’t help but roll over.”
